Georgia on my Mind

17 year old Georgia Jagger, America's favorite pillow lipped
rock child, is making ripples of her own. She is
already the newest spokeswoman for Hudson jeans and posing for famed photographers like Patrick Demarchelier. Her flawed beauty catches the eye o
f magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair and she's been hitting the party scene across the pond.

DVF Pre-fall 2010

Hey fashionistas,
Diane von Furstenberg, personally one of my favorite designers and innovators in fashion history, has done it once again--created a fresh, relevant, and fun collection. Inspired by music festival fashion, her clever blend of cozy
knits, tribal prints, and metallic shine combine the last hits of Woodstock summer fun with the exciting warmth of fall. After all, who wouldn't like to pull off a Kate Moss-esque effortless ensemble?

Sprinkle, Sprinkle Little Star!

Great news New York fashionistas!
The most loved downtown bakery is coming to Rockefeller Center! That's right, the Carrie Bradshaw cliente Bleecker Street-famed Magnolia Bakery will be available to all midtowners as they admire the tree and look at the beautiful Saks wi
ndows! Even grab a classic chocolate or
vanilla cupcake while skating on the ice rink or seeing the Today Show! A fellow blogger recommends the hummingbird cup
cake. yum!

Pop Culture

Hey fashionistas,

Some fashion houses may be prim, but that doesn't mean they can't have awesome unique songbirds! They may be quirky and
different, but that's just the reason labels Karl Lagerfield has his eye on Lilly Allen and Alexander McQueen on-that's right. Gaga.

On one of the best fashion show sets in history, Lily Allen emerges out the trap door of the stage, clad in Chanel, suprising everyone from Prince to Anna W
intour. She shined with her single, "Not Fair" and complemented the models dancing next to her in other S/S
 '10 pieces of Karl's.

One of fashion's most daring and
intriguing
innovators found an equally exciting muse-
Lady Gaga. As an encore of his wildly brilliant "Plato Atlantis" ( S/S '10), he priemiered Gaga's new single, Bad Romance as many pyhon print clad insanely high armadillo heel wearing models paraded out on the extending runway. To return the honor, Lady Gaga wore none other than McQueen's intricately un-walkable alienish shoes. So Gaga!

Viktor's Secret

Victor & Rolf's spring 2010 show has left jaws dropping and imaginations soaring. Viktor's secret--how in the world is that hole in the tulle made?? The whimsy yet endless beauty of this collection has me awed. By far the best this season. And those shoes! ( and yes-that is tulle.)

Serve it Up!

This past month, my eyes have been glued to the screen for the U.S. Open '09. Not only is tennis such an exciting sport to watch and play, but the fashions there are equally exciting!(((to me, anyway)))

Two of my favorite players serve it up in style!

^^Maria Sharapova in her Nike little black [[tennis]] dress with a matching silver headband and signature dangly earrings from Tiffany. [[[left]]]^^
^^ Caroline Wozniacki, the new spokeswoman for Stella McCartney for Adidas, 'sporting' the newest tennis dress for this season. Ruffly and dusty pink, Caroline looked pretty as a princess as she came all the way to the finals. ^^

Review: The September Issue

Today, despite my headache, I managed to head over to the nearest indie film theatre, eager to see Anna Wintour at work in The September Issue. This documentary [[[though not March of the Penguins material]]] chronicles Anna and the rest of Vogue working to make the September issue( hence the title), the thickest and highest selling issue all year. What the film portrayed accurately was one woman's power over the whole industry- top designers were shaking in her presence. Expect good doses of fashion knowledge, featuring designers such as Isabel Toledo, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Thakoon. Throughout the movie you'll laugh at Anna's ridiculously harsh remarks, and see how the Vogue offices really compare to the Devil Wears Prada. Overall, The September Issue definately satisfied my "beauty famine" ( a quote from the film). A must-see for the Anna in all of us.

Bows Bows Bows!

Ever since Blair Waldorf and possey started sporting headbands adorably adorned with bows on them, the trend has sky-rocketed. And though they are cute on headbands, some fashionistas like Lady Gaga wanted to break out and put them..well..

literally on their head!

What do you think? Personally I love this style.. I think that it's fun and daring and definately fashion forward.
Though I'm not planning on trying this ( her extensions seem to do the trick), do you go Gaga for this 'do, or think it's "hello kitty hell"?

Spotlight On: Phillip Lim Resort 2010

Hello Fashionistas!

In case you were wondering, what I am about to show you is a glimpse into the future of fashion. No, there are no plastic capes involved ( but we loved them on Barbie), nor are there iceberg-structured shifts ( sorry, Gaga). But Phillip Lim knows now- his resort 2010 collection includes silhouettes that will last forever and a color palette that just give it the cool-ness that Lim is renowned for. Take a look!

My favorite look of the whole collection. So swee
t and simple, yet so classy and sophisticated. The contrast of the delicate white lace top against this bigger black lace pattern gives the ensemble enough interest and fancy without going all out ornate. Love the cut and length.

Well suited!
This look takes the serious-ness out of suit dressing. I love the way the jacket is not typica
lly tailored and the pant are fitted, yet have a slight slouch to them. Plus, the lace peeking out is a cute touch to an otherwise cool charcoal gray jacket.

This look is so versatile, it's gorgeous. It's everything I want to wear anywhere. Casual but pulled-together, this is a classic example of the uptown/downtown mix that Phillip stands for. The casual leather bag and patterned ( with a slight trace of boho) loose top= downtown. [[[Phillip's current residence in the Meatpacking District might explain it]]] Lacy skirt, leather belt and ( are those snakeskin?) pumps= uptown. Lovely mix.

This look just screams modern goddess. Loving the sleek contemporary feel- that slightly off-white color against the light gray tee and the clean lines- with a gorgeous draping. This skirt flatters and hits right below the knee, but a little more leg is being exposed. The cinched waist is perfect with the skinny leather belt. So clean and chic.

So he highlighted some true Blair Waldorf fashion, lacy skirts and all, but how about some hipper Serena ensembles? Here a tough leather jacket compliments a rock hard tee. Love the tee- where can I get one? And the white shorts are just adorable, especially for resort. Double belt=genius! Props to Phillip for bringing back the loved accesory from S/S 09. But is this outfit feeling a little bit Rag & Bone to you? I've always said that Phillip Lim just has a way with fabric- maybe he should stick to the beautiful dresses with the drapings, etc. Nevertheless, I don't know a single girl who wouldn't buy this in a minute.

Talk about smart dressing! Phillip takes Ivy League-chic to a new level with this boyfriend fit short suit. Love the slouchy shorts + high neck oxford. So professionally chic [[whithout the bore]]]. Perfect lengths. Perfect tailoring.

Here, Phillip really seems to take inspiration from the downtown girl. Always on the town, he creates casual dresses for her- easily dressed up from day to night with metallic jackets and dotted blouses. Love these easy pieces-- it's easy to incorporate these looks into any style. Metallic blazer + short dress= hot trend to keep an eye out for, ladies!
